“I was studying here a lot when I was studying for the national dental boards. I’m the kind of person who cannot study comfortably if I am kept in small, closed, lonely, and suffocating places. This place however is the opposite. I can enjoy really good meals here, drink coffee, people watch, look out to an amazing view of the ocean and study effectively. I love just looking out into the ocean especially when I’m really depressed from studying.. It makes everything seem more bearable. Good stuff!”

“Great view, awesome decor and great latte and baked goods! We had one hot and one iced latte, a few cookies (for the kids and wifey), and the pumpkin pie special (forgot the name). All tasty and enhanced by the location. We watched the sunset here and enjoyed our caffeine and sugar fix, no hassles. My kids both spilled their waters (yes, both of them at different times), the staff quickly cleared the mess, no problems. Will return next time we are in PV.”

“Great atmosphere. You can joy lunch or a cup of coffee on the patio away from the parking lot. Nice staff and decent prices. Felt like being in Europe.”

—Djanny J, Yelp (October 2013)

“My husband and I had our first date here three years ago. And we still like going for dates here. We love their crepes, omelets, and sandwiches. And we love the atmosphere and decor!”

—Jee S, Yelp (May 2013)

“Came in with my mom for brunch and absolutely loved it. We split an omelette and a salad, both of which were excellent. Everything on the menu looked so so good. We also ordered two soy mochas with half the amount of sweetener and they were DELICIOUS. Such a cute establishment, friendly staff, and cozy casual. I am coming back with friends when I need a cute little joint to impress them with.”

“Like a visit to France. Breakfast this morning was delightful. Excellent food, beautiful flowers, delightful French ambiance. I would jump at the chance to eat here anytime. Their food is delicious and a nice change from the same old at chain restaurants. I had their red velvet French toast, and I would be hard pressed to say if the French toast or the real cake is better.”

“Cute place to have lunch or breakfast! This place is the perfect spot to catch up on girl time, whether it be inside in the quaint dining area, or in the outside patio area that sprawls onto the sidewalk. I had a delicious sandwich for lunch, and the French toast for breakfast. Both delicious! I especially love the water that is flavored with mint.”

—Linda T., Long Beach, CA

“I really love this place…because not only is the food really yummy, but the overall feel of the place just makes me happy. The decor is very charming, and sitting outside is a must. I’ve only ever had sandwiches here, and my favorite is definitely the chipotle chicken, though the California chicken comes in second! And I always love a place that has fruit (lemon, lime, whatever) already sliced and inside their water dispensers!”

—Shruti N., Los Angeles, CA

“Yellow Vase is absolutely adorable! The interior and exterior have a yellow theme and everything is super pretty. I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere and weather while you indulge in their yummy brunch or lunch items… and if you have room, you can try one of their many yummy pastries. I’ve tried their French toast, omelettes, chicken salad, and all are pretty good, but my favorite was their pesto panini with mozzarella cheese. Who knew that a sandwich so simple could be so scrumptious?! A definite must try!”

—Loni L., Westwood, CA

“You can’t beat the inside decor! Yellow Vase oozes with a French cafe atmosphere. And eating outside is just as nice with a grand view of the ocean just across the street. My girlfriend and I have eaten breakfast and lunch there a few times and always ordered something different. We’ve never been disappointed. What I particularly like is the array of choices on the menu, including meals for health-conscious people like me. Parking is not a problem. Also, if you’re into desserts, this is the place to come. Luckily, I live nearby and plan to continue trying different items on the menu. They all look so good!”

“What an adorable, bright yellow gem! Their outdoor patio is very nice, lots of tables with umbrellas and a lovely fountain in the middle. Walking in, the place screams HAPPY and CHEERY, with lovely flowers in a glass case, random trinkets all over, and delicious desserts on display. I ordered their smoked salmon plate, and my friends ordered the strawberry French toast and scrambled eggs. My smoked salmon was delicious—very delightful with some cream cheese to spread on the FANTASTICALLY soft and crunchy French bread it came with. I’d say the bread was the best part, actually. My friend’s French toast with strawberries and almonds looked scrumptious, and my other friend really enjoyed her scramble. The patio was a perfect place to enjoy the beautiful day and catch up on our lives, and there was no feeling of being rushed or anything by the wait staff. Definitely a lovely place to eat good food and relax.”

“Charming! I found this place with a friend by accident last time we drove through. It was so cute, it was like cuteness gravity pulled us inside. I was utterly charmed by the whole ambiance of it. From the building that made you feel like you were in some little town in Europe or the inside that was part shop and part coffee counter/restaurant with beautiful wood tables and rafters. The shop area is across from the ordering counter and had a lot of quaint items that I really liked. The desserts looked amazing and while I was drooling over them, I saw an employee walk past me carrying a bowl of tomato bisque soup for a guest seated outside. I was sold. We bought panini, soup, and dessert. Then we relaxed outside listening to the birds and enjoying a quiet day in an ideal little nook. It’s adorable—you should go. The food was fantastic and we even took some rose and lavender flavored macaroons to go. High quality dessert in fancy boxes.”
